My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FROSTY

Neutered Male     White       Miniature Poodle Mix         Young     11.5 lbs.

Let me introduce myself.  I’m known as Frosty here at the rescue kennel.  You can see my pictures above, but I want to assure you right away that they don’t represent the “real me.”  I’ve been shaved down because I was very matted when I was picked up off the streets by a public shelter.  Give me a little time for my coat to grow and I’ll have nice  curls again.  Just focus on my soulful brown eyes for now and you can see who I really truly am.

With that disclaimer about my haircut out of the way, let me tell you a little about myself.  I’m a pretty calm dog and well mannered, though I’m also very curious and energetic.  Being curious and energetic is a good thing, I think, because it means we can have a lot of fun together.  But I also like to explore when I’m out on a walk, so sometimes I forget myself and pull on the leash to get closer to something interesting.  I’m sure you could teach me to not do that – I just need some reminding!  I was on my own for awhile so I didn’t get enough leash walking practice lately.    I’m also affectionate and friendly and like people, so I would be good company for you if you choose me.

If you have another dog, you’ll want to know whether I like other dogs.   Well, I like some of them.  Snowball and I were on the street together, living as best we could and keeping each other company, so I’m very good friends with Snowball (people think we are brothers), but I have to admit that I don’t like just any dog.  Some I do and some I don’t.  I’d have to meet your other dog to know for sure.

Well, that’s about all I know to say about myself at this point.  I don’t mean to imply that I’m a boring dog, or even an overly modest one.  I’m neither of those things.  I’m a good, nice, curious, energetic and happy little dog, anxious to meet you so that I can go to my forever home and my special person.  I hope it’s you and that you will come and meet me so we can start our life together.   Just be sure to ask for “Frosty” when you contact the rescue people.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.

The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
