My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello World!
My name is Bijou and I’m a handsome, spunky and delightful bichon boy with TONS of personality and energy! (That’s what Mom tells me all the time!) Dad says I’m so happy that I smile a lot – and when I do, I light up the room! I also wag my tail all the time to show how happy I am. Besides being handsome, delightful and friendly, I’m also adorable, affectionate and want to please! Sound good? Then please read on!
I’m a major cuddle bug who likes to be close to my people and my doggy foster brothers. I love to be part of a family and a pack. But I’m not a couch potato – oh no sirree! I enjoy going for mile long walks and to the dog park. I’m an explorer who wants to see what is happening in the world around me. When we get home I like to relax and be one of the gang. I’m a real gentleman and a great companion.

There is no doubt that I get along with people of all sizes and shapes. And I pay very close attention to what everyone is saying and doing. Dad says I’m kind, try to do everything right and please you. I’m basically a little snuggle bug who thrives on love. Speaking of which, Mom says I love to be with people more than anything else! I follow her while she walks around the house and does chores, and I like to sit on Dad’s lap while he watches TV. People are the best and I’m always happy to meet new ones. And I’m so well behaved that everyone likes to have me around. (I, of course, never resist a chance to make friends or find a friendly lap for a cuddle!)

Mom, Dad, and all my BFK Aunties think I’m pretty special. You see, I act like a youngster but I’m actually a senior. I lived with my original family for about 11 years then they decided they didn’t have time for me because the holidays were coming. So they took me to this place called a shelter where I laid in my cage wondering why I was there. No one came to visit me and my mouth hurt a lot. I also had a spot on my tail that was painful and bothered me a lot.

Then along came my BFK Aunties. They heard about me and decided I needed to become a FurKid. So they whisked me out of the shelter, took care of my teeth and tail and found a wonderful foster family! That gave me a new lease on life and I haven’t stopped smiling since.

I love my walks – and my cuddles! I live each and every day to the fullest once again and am so grateful to be in a loving foster home. What I’m looking for now is my forever home, with an adult or two, at least one other furkid (more is ok with me!) and older children are fine, too. I’m small (13 pounds) and portable, not to mention sweet and adorable— and there is no one who will love and appreciate you more than I would, I promise!

So, if you’re interested in a darling little boy who will snuggle his way into your heart, and ask for nothing more than love and companionship in return, please ask for me as I’ll be waiting!

Tail Wags and Kisses,
Bijou the Bandit (‘cause I’ll steal your heart)
