My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Our Golden Girls Abby and Peyton. These girls were left homeless after their senior owners passed away just 5 days apart. The girls have been together for at least 6 years. They would be happiest if they could stay together and a lower adoption rate would apply if adopting both. We will consider adopting them independently to the perfect home.
Abby is a dachshund mix 7-8 years old and weighs 18 pounds. She is HW negative and is in overall good health. She had recent blood work completed which turned out well. She is a loving girl and prefers to burrow under the blankets to sleep. Abby loves children and barks very little, unless it’s a squirrel.
Peyton the 10 year old Shipoo is an adorable hot mess. She is a chubby 9.5 lbs and has the cutest little bark which you hear when she wants you to pay attention to her. She is happy on your lap or curled up on the couch, or the floor nearby. Peyton also loves children and will give them lots of kisses if allowed.
Both girls are house trained and get along with other dogs. Both girls love to ride in the car and are happy, friendly and well behaved where ever they go. Very good on a leash, and enjoy short walks. They are up to date on their vaccines and their dentals are scheduled for January. Both girls had badly neglected teeth, and will have a cleaning and many extractions. This will be a big help in their overall health which is otherwise good for their age.
Please consider adopting a senior dog. Senior dogs make wonderful lovable pets, and Abby and Peyton would be a wonderful addition to any home. They both have so many years to love and be loved. If you’re interested in giving a loving home to these senior sweethearts applications can be found at www.hs-uc.org.
As we end the year many of us may be planning for next year. Please remember to plan for your pets should something happen to you. Peyton and Abby's humans both passed away leaving them homeless. Where will your pets go? Do you have a person or family member that you've spoken with about keeping your pets? If you have elderly parents with pets are you in a position to take their pets? Good questions to get answered as we start a new year.
