Thud's Story...
Thud is one of the Los Alamos dogs and is a shy guy. He would love to be in a foster home or adopted with another dog and someone that will show him lots of love. Thud and Jackson are buddies. These two guys are kennel mates and the best of friends. Thud runs around the yard, playing with Jackson. Thud gives kisses and love and truly enjoys his cuddle time. He does take some time to bond. Are you a patient person? He needs you! Thud is 1.5 years old and has been at the shelter since November 9, 2016. THUD - ID#A408589.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Thud, a Santa Maria Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Boxer for sale in Santa Maria, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Boxer dog from a breeder in Santa Maria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Maria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Maria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Boxer breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Maria paves the way for another one to be saved.
