Please submit an application AND do NOT also contact the shelter. You will be contacting both the adoption coordinator and the marketing director, who do not see each other's emails. This causes confusion.
LIBBY is truly as gentle as a lamb. She wants nothing more than to please and be loved. She is appreciative of even the tiniest kind gesture. Her foster family is amazed at how exceptional she is. She has never had an accident in her foster home and never chewed on furniture or other things that aren't hers. This came as no surprise to me. LIBBY is such a kind soul with such a desire to be accepted that she doesn't want to do anything to risk getting in trouble. She is so happy to be in a home receiving love.
LIBBY can be a tiny bit timid (never at all aggressive) the first couple minutes with new people. She warms up quickly and will be your best friend in no time. She is great children and is gentle enough for a home with toddlers. LIBBY doesn't protest going into her crate and once inside doesn't make a peep. She walks wonderfully on a leash without pulling and adores her strolls around the neighborhood. She minds her manners on car rides as well. LIBBY is terrific with her foster home's resident cat. She is kind to dogs and would be happy in a forever home with or without other canine siblings. However, we think a crazy environment like a crowded dog park would probably frighten her.
An act as simple as a quick pet causes LIBBY to stare up at you with eyes full of enough gratitude and kindness to make your own eyes shed a tear. This girl is the definition of what rescue should be. Her forever family is going to have an angel on earth in LIBBY!
LIBBY is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations.
Her $300 adoption fee includes transport to the Nashville area.

ALL OF OUR DOGS START THEIR JOURNEY IN MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE WHERE THEY REMAIN IN LOVING FOSTER FAMILIES UNTIL THEY ARE ADOPTED. Once adopted, they travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Alpha Dog Pet Transport for our New England, Nashville, and Knoxville adoptions (https://alphadogtransport.com) and The Road Home Pet Transport for our Midwest adopters (https://www.facebook.com/roadhomepettransport).
Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff.
Due to the extremely high volume of inquiries we receive, we ask that you request, complete, and submit an application before asking additional questions. We try very hard to include all pertinent information in our bios. We are excited to help you find your new family member. However, Woof River is 100% volunteer operated. We want to spend our time saving dogs and assisting those adopters who have taken the time to complete an application. Thank you for understanding.
