My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable approx 2 yr old wheaten/terrier mix weighs 22 lbs and is a 'TRIPOD'. He only has three legs. When we rescued him we think he had been hit by a car and his leg was broken and the vet felt that the best thing to do was amputate his leg. He doesn't know he only has three legs and runs and plays with the best of them. His foster mom adores him and says he is the sweetest dog, very active but loves everyone. He is hard to take good photos as he loves to be on the go. He does well on a leash and seems to be pretty well house trained. He loves his toys and plays all day long, this is a really great little dog.

The total adoption donation of $475 and includes the required interstate health certificate and transport , spay/neuter, shots including rabies, bordatella, parvo, lepto, distemper and canine influenza, and micro chip with a lifetime pre paid registration. The total amount is payable to Shaggy Dog Rescue which is a 501c3. Some of our dogs are still in Texas in foster care. The application is online at http://houstonshaggydogrescue.org/application-process/

Just as a note, if you are in Massachusetts and are adopting directly from Texas rather than from a local foster, there are new quarantine laws in effect. All rescues must be quarantined 48 hours at a state run facility, and in addition, a second interstate health certificate is required to be issued by a Massachusetts vet. This new law may add an additional cost.
