1/27/17 update: Tom is still looking for rescue or a forever home. He is very food driven and likes to play with toys when the mood strikes. He is great with other dogs and likes to sleep in bed at night. He likes to be held and picked up most of the time but can be temperamental about it at times. Love's belly rubs. Probably not a good fit for a home with small kids. Receives Levothyroxine due to low thyroid level.
1/23/17 update: Health is somewhat improved. Gets thyroid med twice a day. Tom likes to beg for human food. Would do best in an adults-only home. Skin looks great but he still has junk stuck in the fur on his face and ears that I can't get off. Likes to sleep in the bed. Good with other dogs. 1/3/17 - First vet visit: Doc thinks he's 10 years old. Skin issue, ear infection, old eye ulcer. Doing labs. 12/31/16 - Rescued from a shelter Thomas is here and he's a little grumpy but I would be too... His skin is a mess. His eyes are a mess. His coat is a matted mess. And I haven't tried to look in his mouth yet

We are located in rural southwestern West Virginia and we seek assistance from rescues and adopters in northeastern states and sponsors nationwide. We are one of several rescues in the southern portion of the state and are always interested in collaborating with other rescues in our area to save lives. Volunteers are needed to foster dogs and drive on transports. The area we service is very rural and most of the animals we take in have lived their lives outdoors, though we do sometimes get surrendered indoor pets. We rescue from shelters, local strays, locally injured animals, and owner surrenders and get them the medical care they need. Donations are the lifeline of our rescue work.
Rescues: We have transport available to northeastern states. PA-based rescues, we are PA licensed. If you have not pulled from us before, please submit our rescue application and we'll be in touch soon. If you are not located in the northeast, you will need to arrange transport beginning in Lenore, WV.
