Parker joined Furry Kids' when he could no longer be cared for by his owner.  Parker is a Cocker Spaniel and is approx 9 years old.

Parker is a very sweet gentleman with a Peter Pan syndrome!  He can be fun and childish, and loves toys.  Then he just wants to be with you and chill. He is house trained. He is crate trained.  He does have a fear of men so patience with men is extremely important for him.  He did very well with calm children but prefer a home with no kids or older children only. Parker also does well with other dogs!

Parker is only a daily prescription medicine for seizures. This medicine is inexpensive ($16 a month) but necessary for him to NOT have seizures.  When Parker joined Furry Kids' the owner told us he had seizures a couple times a week.  We took Parker to our veterinarian who ran blood tests and determined the medicine Parker needs to not have seizures.  However, any dog who is on seizure medicine can still have seizures - they will be much less frequent and not as strong.  Parker has been on seizure meds for a month and has not had any seizures since!  Please do not let this scare you away from this wonderful boy! You can read more about canine seizures here: http://www.canine-epilepsy.com/Graves.html

Parker has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed, had a dental (w/extractions) and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting him, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.

There is no obligation on your part, this just helps us to determine if the dog would be a good fit in your home. Once the application is completed we can connect you with the foster family so you can learn more about the animal you are interested in.
