My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like you to meet Elda.
Elda is a 2 year old Pure bred Great Dane. This lovely girl came to our rescue when she was left abandoned in a home, she was extremely emaciated (70 pounds) and fighting for her life. Elda means "warrior" and that is exactly what she has been. She has been treated for tick borne disease and is now healthy. She still needs to gain weight but we believe she is healthy enough to start looking for her forever home.
Elda, needs someone to believe in her and give her her forever home. Because of her starvation, she does have some resource guarding. It is only towards other dogs, she is fine with people. For this reason, we believe she would be best as an only dog in the home. She is not aggressive towards other dogs, so she can still have "friends" but no toys or food would be able to be involved. She would be fine with cats in the home, with proper slow introduction. Elda would do best with older kids in the home (12+).
She is extremely people oriented and loves to get attention. She will be a perfect addition to the perfect home. Elda simply needs an experience dog owner that is willing to dedicate the proper time into her.
We promised Elda safety an a forever.
She is only missing one of those.
If you have room in your home and heart for Elda, please visit www.because4paws.org and fill out an application.
