My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Simon says….I am finally ready to find my forever home! This 6 lb., approximately 12 year old tiny man has had quite the journey to get ready for adoption. Found on the streets of Philadelphia barely able to walk, he was lucky someone took pity on him and took him to the shelter. Our vet determined Simon had compressed discs in his neck causing him a great deal of pain and the inability to control his back legs. Poor Simon would scream in fear and pain if you had to pick him up or if you pet his head. With medication, bed rest and lots and lots of love this little guy rallied. Now he seeks out attention and his favorite thing in the entire world…belly rubs! Simon cannot get enough belly rubs, nor can he get enough of sitting in a lap. He still has (and will always have) a funny little walk but he gets around very well and it will bring a smile to your face to watch him. Simon is fine with other dogs and cats but he absolutely does not want to share his food bowl and will make that very clear. He cannot do steps and should not have access to them, but at 6 lbs. he is easy to scoop up. Because of his fragility, Simon should be in an adult only home or with older children. He would love a home with retired folks or someone who works from home. He is housetrained if given a few potty breaks during the day, he is fine through the night. Ready to welcome a little man into your life who will make you smile each and every day? Then Simon is your guy. For questions please email info@seniordoghaven.org.
