Meet RAYLAN! *courtesy post - contact Katie via email at kmarkisz@msn.com for adoption info!

Raylan is an approx 6 y/o neutered male who we have had since he was 1 year. He weighs about 65 lbs. He is tall and long, but lean. Raylan is completely house broken, and crate trained. He loves having a crate and can stay in his crate while we are at work, or have "Run of the House" with no issues as well. His "likes" are anything to do with a tennis ball or stick, but Loves any toy you bring him. He LOVES training.  He will "Leave it" for 5 minutes! He has a lot of focus! He also loves hiking out in trails, but walks in the urban environment or street can be tough. He can be skittish when on walks on a street (car noises, street cleaning vehicles can frighten him). Desensitization training works well but has never gone away. Our yard, however, though next to a busy street does not frighten him and he is able to focus on us and be a calm, happy dog. He also loves to splash around in the water at the bay  and chasing the stick on the beach. Raylan has been fearful of children so we have not had him around children.

While he can be friendly toward other dogs and wants to play, he can be unpredictable times makes us weary of allowing him to be with other dogs. He is not cat friendly. When meeting new people he is friendly and we are working on not jumping to greet people coming in the house. He is skittish, however, around small children. Raylan is a really sweet boy and would make a fabulous dog for a household without small children or other dogs.

Raylan is in Costa Mesa, CA.  If you would like to meet him, please email Katie at kmarkisz@msn.com

About I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
