My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mattie rescued from a high kill shelter as a neglected matted little mess. While we don’t get a full story on these little ones, we do know she was living in the back yard with two larger dogs. She was in such bad shape that an emergency grooming was necessary. She had to be completely shaved. She had a limp to her back left leg. At night she was placed in a crate in a room with several other dogs. She never made a peep. She has been around a very playful cat and two cranky old cats with no problems. She has been exposed to several dogs of different sizes with no problems. She is crate trained now and working well on house-breaking. She has had a rough time with her vetting process. When her routine preoperative medical SNAP 4 to make sure she was healthy enough for her spay, she was found to have both Anaplasmosis and Ehrlichia Canis. She was successfully treated with antibiotics, though she will need to be retested in 6 months. At the time of her spay the doctor noticed the limp and injury to her left back leg and recommended a follow up. When the follow up included an xray that showed that the back left leg had been broken and repaired. She will probably always have this little limp to the back leg. Her little injured leg doesn’t slow her down. She loves to sit and just be with her person. She is looking for a home where she will get all the attention she wants and where she will be kept primarily indoors. She would make an excellent companion.
