My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

is a one-year, eight-month-old medium haired black female cat. Pepper was rescued by a volunteer, who found a very thin, starving young mother and her six kittens, and lurking nearby was an orphan kitten! The volunteer took them home, and despite her own poor health and lack of food, Pepper brought the orphan right into her own brood and nursed the little fellow as one of her own. Pepper’s foster mom described what a wonderful mother Pepper was, and how she played with the kittens, carried them everywhere she went, and watched over them very carefully. All her kittens have been adopted, and this young mother came to stay with us.
Pepper defines the term “lady-like”. When you stop to visit her, she comes politely to the door of the cage and sits calmly, purring away while you talk to her and pet her. There is a bell hanging in her cage, and when you stop talking to her or petting her, she gently bangs the bell with her head to remind you to keep talking to her and petting her! Pepper sports an adorable blue collar, and when you tell her how great she looks in it, she’ll turn her head so you can admire it even more. She’s a gentle and beautiful cat, and would be a wonderful companion to any family. Come meet her and see!

At PAAWS RI, all of the cats that come into our care are spayed/neutered, receive a rabies vaccination, distemper vaccinations, de-worming, flea treatment, microchipping, and testing for Feline Leukemia/FIV.
