My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dusty is currently located in TEXAS and he is willing to move north for a good loving forever home.

Dusty has had a rough life but he is a wonderful dog, please consider giving Dusty the loving home he deserves. Dusty came from animal control. He is a wonderful, super sweet, gentle, loving & super- submissive Texas Blue Lacy around 5 years old. He is a medium sized dog weighing around 30 pounds. Dusty SMILES and will rolls over on his back whenever you walk up to him. Dusty is a people dog and would make an excellent companion. He will take all the love and petting he can get.

Dusty suffers from what can best be described as doggie PTSD. He was attacked by other dogs and he is now frightened of other dogs and will growl at them to stay away. Sometimes this prompts other dogs to attack him again. Other dogs will nip him just to be jerks. When attacked or nipped Dusty will not defend himself. He just rolls over on his back and screams until a human rescues him. Consequently Dusty spends most of his time in his crate where he is safe from other dogs. Dusty has been in foster care for over 3 years. We would love for him to have a home were he can be loose in the house and lay in the yard without fear of being attacked.

Dusty is a sight hound. He likes to bark and squirrels and cats on the other side of the fence. He is crate trained, house trained and otherwise good in the house. Dusty needs a home where he is inside. Dusty needs to be an only dog or paired with another submissive dog that will not hurt him. He needs a secure fenced yard where he can sun himself and bark at squirrels.

Dusty is neutered. fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He has completed treatment for a low load of heartworms and is now heartworm free. Dusty has a $400.00 adoption fee that includes ground transport via Rescue Road Trips to Hagerstown MD or Strasburg VA.
