My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shera came to our shelter from Macon, Georgia. She and her puppies were seized by animal control as part of a cruelty investigation. Shera was emaciated, heartworm positive, covered in mange, and living in squalor when rescued. Her previous owner was arrested and is serving time in prison. Shera's puppies have found forever homes and now it is her turn.

Shera is a mellow, quiet girl and gets along well with other dogs. She is about 4-5 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. Shera is frightened by most men, but we are working with her and she has made vast improvements. Shera would be best suited for an adult home with Chow or like breed experience. Once you win her over, she will be your best friend for life.

Shera is spayed and vaccinated for Rabies, Distemper, Bordetella, and Lyme. She tested positive for heartworm and ehrlichia (a tick borne disease) when first rescued, but has been treated by our veterinarian for both. She is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention too. She is also microchipped with a lifetime registration.
