Juno is a 1 year old (as of December 2016) Pocket Boxer. She is UTD on all of her shots, spayed and healthy. She has had a litter of puppies. Juno has clearly never had a home, or been loved by humans. When she arrived to her foster home, she was not house-trained, did not respond to any commands, and was very apprehensive of the world around her. Despite her obvious neglect….. she wants nothing more than to be loved, and to be with her humans and fellow animals.
She is happy. Wags her nub almost constantly…. But she lacks confidence and trust. Even when extending a hand to her to love on her….. (her nub IS wagging), she tends to cower in fear. She may have suffered some abuse in her previous life…. But we are happy to report that she has never shown any aggression or behavioral issues AT ALL.
She has Mastered SIT now, and is learning Off/Down when she jumps. She does not jump wildly…. She is very gentle (more like she is trying to hug you)……
Juno would do best with other companion animals. She does VERY well with ALL animals (cats included). She currently has an ongoing love affair with our 200lb. St. Bernard….. but plays “hardest” with our Boxers and 8lb. puppy. She is very gentle and docile and submissive. She prefers long naps on the couch and being as close to her humans as possible. She is not terribly independent. She prefers to eat, go outside and sleep with company.
Initially she was hesitant to go outside at all….. We suspect this is because she has spent her entire life outside. But she LOVES to be outside now for long periods of time to play with her companion dogs and lay in the grass. She has VERY few, if any accidents in the house now….. as we are attentive to getting to her outside RIGHT after she eats….. and often throughout the day. The good news is…she IS crate trained. She can be left in her crate for long periods of time and have NO accidents. And while she is small…. She prefers a LARGER crate. She needs convincing to go in it…. But once she is in, she is quiet and well behaved.
While walks are not her favorite thing…. Once she gets her stride….. she will walk well. No pulling. The walk home is even better… once she sees her “familiar” house…. She’s ALL ABOUT getting there!
Juno LOVES her foster Humanoids. She currently lives with 3 tiny fleshlings…. Ages 6, 4 and 3.
While Juno is apprehensive about so many things…. as she gets familiar and knows she can trust you…she settles in and has done AMAINGLY well in the first home she has ever known. She will need you to be patient and overly kind to her….. but she is extremely mellow for such a young Boxer, and she is very loving to anyone and everyone she meets.
