I am already spayed, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with cats.
We just love Rabbit's personality! She is so much fun! She is about 1-2 years old, is spayed, and is a chatty girl! Rabbit was found as a stray in mid-November and cannot wait to become a forever cat! She is so well rounded - she is playful but is snuggly! We love everything about her! You will, too! Come meet her!
The Michiana Humane Society has been helping our community's unwanted animals find homes for nearly 100 years. We believe that animals belong with families, and we do whatever we can to make that happen!
Come Meet Our Pets...
The shelter is currently open Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays for adoptions. You can find news of our activities on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/MichianaHumaneSocietySPCA) or our website.
Our Adoption Process...
Looking for a dog or cat? Here's how we do adoptions at MHS. Come into the shelter and find the pet you want to add to your family. Fill out an application form and leave it at the front desk. Then you call us the next morning to find out if you're approved!
Once your adoption is approved, if the pet is already spayed or neutered you can come in, complete the adoption contract, and take your baby home.
If a spay or neuter is required, MHS will schedule it within the next week. Once your pet's surgery is complete, you can come in and pick up.
Adoption fees are $135 for dogs and $85 for cats. That includes all initial vaccinations (except rabies), spay or neuter if required, heartworm or feline leukemia testing, and flea treatments.

NOTE: Some shelters have physical locations you can visit; some of these shelters may only have pets for a limited time, so please do not wait for a reply—just go visit the shelter!
Other organizations are rescue groups run by busy volunteers who may take a while to reply. You can find information about the shelter or rescue group caring for this pet, and their adoption procedures,
