My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie Mae is a female German Shepherd, Rottweiler mix that is 3 years old and approx. 65 pounds. She is the perfect dog for anyone that is looking for a big, sweet, loving, loyal companion. Sadie is about the sweetest, happiest dog you will ever meet. In her foster home, she is perfectly happy outside in the yard playing ball - well, playing Keep Away - or inside relaxing and keeping an eye on her people. She has great house manners and a calm demeanor most of the time and will want to follow her 'person' around everywhere to know what you are doing at all times.

Since looks can often be deceiving, you should know she does not have a single mean bone in her body. She will let you know when she sees a stranger approach or hears a car door close by and give a few warning barks to make sure you heard it too. In her foster home she spends all day loose and nights in a crate - she is perfectly well behaved either way. Her foster sister is only 9 little pounds, but Sadie manages to bring herself down on the floor and gently play around a little. She also plays really well with dogs of all sizes and makes friends easily. She has not been cat tested or pocket pet tested.

Sadie is perfectly house trained, has no resource guarding issues, and stays close by even in an open yard. However, she needs some work walking on a leash and she will chase the occasional rabbit, but returns when called.

One thing this foster mom will definitely miss - "Sadie Mae is a super-fast learner and has been a pleasure to train. I expect she would do well as an only dog, or with a dog sibling. I especially recommend her for any single person that is looking for a true companion; she can be funny and friendly and obedient, but also a great guardian." We require home checks in our adoption process so we ask that you live in a 50 miles radius of the foster home. Sadie is being fostered in Wheaton.
