Nellie's Story...
This is little Miss Nellie (Nells Bells). Nellie is a Collie mix. Nellie came to the rescue when she was just 3 weeks old and had sarcoptic mange. She is now 13 weeks old. She is UTD on vaccines, microchipped and has had her rabies and been wormed and treated for various parasites. She is learning to walk on a leash/harness and working on house training. She is crate trained. She has come a long way and her hair is beautiful now that she has been released from the vet. She plays with the other puppies in her foster home and has learned sit (the foster is working on other commands). She was in isolation for so long, she is so glad to be with the other dogs. Nellie is a sweetheart.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nellie, a Macon Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Macon, or seeking a Collie puppy from a breeder in Macon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Macon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Macon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Macon paves the way for another one to be saved.
