My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Don't be fooled by his name because he's much more of a sweet angel who follows you everywhere you go - only once in a while is he a little devil and tests you to see what he can mischievously get away with ;). He's on the older side (12 years old) but everyone that has met him thinks he's a puppy given how active he is. Diablo weighs about 19 pounds and he’s neutered, up to date on vaccines and is micro chipped. His adoption fee is $275.

A Day in Diablo's Paw-Steps:

Diablo is easy-going, gentle, calm, and provides fantastic company as he likes to keep an eye on his parents and follow them around. He sleeps (and snores) near us when we're watching TV, right under our desk/chair when we're using the computer, and likes to watch us cook (hoping to get a treat). He's very obedient and always comes to you when you pat for him to come. And he'll sniff food closely but he doesn't dig into it without your permission.

Diablo is house-trained and because his foster home is currently a condo (with no backyard), he walks 3 times a day (once in the morning before work, once after work, and once more before bedtime to avoid any overnight accidents). He would do well with a backyard where he can go out more regularly.

The only time he would bark or really whine is when he's left home alone. But it's just a way for him to kill time (since he doesn't really play with toys) while he waits eagerly for your return. We've brought him into the office a few times and he's friendly and very calm even with multiple people petting him at the same time. He's always got a little pep in his step and absolutely loves to go out on long walks and explore the world.

Things that He Gets Excited About:

ATTENTION: He loves belly rubs and will lift an arm up to ask for it when you pet him. And when he's particularly happy with you, he showers you with kisses (licks your hand/feet/leg or whatever he can find). He does this every day and it still melts our hearts - words do not describe how adorable this little guy can be. He likes attention so he'll let him play with him (e.g., pick him up and hold him, hug him, play with his ears, play with his arms/legs, turn him upside down for a belly rub, anything really!).
EXPLORING: As long as it's not raining out, he can't get enough of the outdoors. This little guy can probably go hiking with you for an hour just exploring and sniffing the world.
FOOD: This little guy LOVES food. He gets excited when he knows its meal time with his tail wagging about and he stands up on his hind legs for a closer sniff.
KEEPING CLEAN: Funnily enough, he likes to be clean. After every meal and sip of water, he goes rolling in his doggie bed to wipe down his mouth.

Health:
Health-wise, he's in great shape (can easily jump up/down a couch) and can walk over an hour a day, but with age does come a few limitations. He's hard of hearing and has slight cataracts in his eyes but you can get his attention by clapping. He has a collapsed trachea which means once in a while he'll have a rough cough but he's back to normal in a few seconds. The cold weather makes it a bit worse but doesn't stop him from going outdoors. He's had bladder stones in the past so is on a grain-free diet. He's missing some teeth now but has no problems eating or even chewing his food/snacks. And he recently had some lumps removed with stitches healing nicely - nothing to be concerned about.
With all this said, none of this holds him back and he's more active than many younger dogs that we've encountered.

Ideal Home:
Diablo would be best suited to a home with a backyard or parent(s) that are willing to walk him 3 times a day regularly and who are home most of the time. He's good with people and dogs but hasn't been cat-tested.
