My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Holyfield is a five yr old boxer mix or at least an all American mutt anyhow. He needs regular exercise, and loves to fetch and play tug. Holyfield has basic manners including sit, down, a great recall, off, out, and is working on wait. He loves his people and is a great alarm system! Holyfield gets along with most other dogs, and very much enjoys playing, but would live best with dogs smaller than him if they are male. He has yet to have a problem with any female dogs. He's very aware that women rule the roost! He does not get along with cats.

Holyfield is very toy motivated and will play fetch all day long. He is very enthusiastic with everything he does!

Holyfield does not seem to know what to do with children and while he is not naughty with them, we feel he should live only with older children (over 15).

He is great off leash on our 19 acres, both hiking and just hanging out around the backyard. he has been introduced to horses and is fine with them with supervision. He will get rambunctious if they are running around. He kennels great but does not need a kennel on a daily basis while we are gone. He sleeps in a dog bed beside his foster mom but does love his couch time!

Holyfield is fine in the car and can leap vertically into the back of a small pickup truck with all four feet if so inclined! (he didn't seem to have a reason, he just decided he wanted to check it out!)

Holyfield has been very well behaved in his foster home, with no sign of any behavioral issues to date, but has in the past nipped at people who invade his personal bubble without his consent. He has a very hard time with waving hands. He does not make contact and it appears to be his personal warning system. Training is available with Holyfield's adoption with Just like MaGic dog training.

Holyfield is looking for a fair leader who can encourage his mind to think and give him the exercise he requires. He does very well with positive motivating reinforcement and is a big people pleaser when treated fairly.
