Meet Ziggy!
Ziggy is a tiny cream/tan Deer Head Chihuahua. Ziggy is Vet estimated at around 2 years old and weighs approximately 3 and 1/2 pounds.
Don't let his size fool you. Ziggy is a fun little spitfire full of spunk! He is very sweet and very active. His foster mama calls him Evel Knievel.
Foster mom reports he is very entertaining, especially when he's jumping really high like a kangaroo! His bark is no bigger than a minute and he will holler sometimes but sounds like a mouse.
He plays a little rough with the bigger dogs but the patient nanny dogs in his foster home don't mind. They play well with him. He also just loves the Chi girls his own size.
He just loves to play and gets along great with all other dogs. He loves people too once he warms up, but is initially afraid of people.
He is also a very lovable boy and enjoys his lap time! Ziggy is a very well-behaved little boy and foster mom says he is a good time!
With Ziggy's very tiny size he will require an adult only or older, mature children home.
Ziggy is current on vaccinations and has been neutered and microchipped.
Ziggy loves to go outside to go potty but will use a potty pad if he can't go outside. He is doing better riding in the car.
Ziggy is ready for his happily ever after in a calm and loving home!

Our Adoption Process...

AFCHS is a non-sheltered humane society organization modeled after some of the more progressive humane societies. We do not believe any home is better than no home, but instead, work to find the right home for each specific animal.
If you are interested in adopting an animal, please fill out and submit the adoption questionnaire or call 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535. ALL of the fields on the application MUST be filled out or the application will not send, if this happens your time will have been lost. If you are having trouble filling out the on-line application we can email you a copy to fill out. You can also copy the application and paste it into a word document, fill it out and then send it to us at please call us afternoons at 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535
Filling out a questionnaire is not a commitment to adopt. It does help us determine if the dog or cat you inquire about is suitable for your home and to suggest others not yet on our site.
While we have some dogs and cats at our Sanctuary most of them are in foster care or rescue homes. An application must be completed before an appointment can be set to meet them.
