My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Panda. She is an approximately year old spayed female Shih Tzu that is ready for life in a new home. She is from a high kill shelter in Southern California and she is the cutest and funniest little thing! She is a little like a dumb blonde though.

Panda loves people but has a hard time remembering that she has to listen when she is off leash. She likes to explore and would love a home where she gets a short walk every day. Panda can be a barker at times so she is not for an apartment. She loves loves loves to do zoomies in the yard so we are looking for a family for her where she can run around in the yard.

Panda understands the concept of a doggy door and knows that dogs disappear in and out of it but she has not conquered it yet. She bumps it with her little flat face and ends up puzzled why she is not on the other side. Panda gets along with other dogs but does not want to share her toys or her food and will bark and snap at other dogs that will try and grab them from her. Nothing overly scary but we wanted to make sure that her new owners know.

She has been friendly with the kids in the household but we think that she would be better with kids over 12. She acts differently, not unfriendly at all, just different, around young kids than she does adults and we would hate for it to become something bigger than it is now. She seems to be frightened when they try and pick her up but she does like when they pet her and play with her.

Panda is crate trained and sleeps in a crate quietly every night. She has a crazy haircut after the pictures. Her head still looks the same but her body is a bit shorter and is pretty chopped up due to mats on her legs and belly.

Panda's adoption fee is $250 plus a $10.99 microchip registration fee.
