Here's what the humans have to say about me:
MEET MARLEY
MARLEY is a very handsome 4 year old, smooth black and tan, slightly underweight tweenie (17 lbs) male Dachshund (akc with no papers) who is looking for a forever family of his very own.
He LOVES loves loves to play 24/ 7. He loves squeaker toys, loving and cuddles. He is smart and totally cuteness overload. MARLEY is so funny. Number one ODR, Inc volunteer, Jenell fills his bedtime crate with 6 to 8 blakets each night and it takes him about 45 minuters to 're-decorate' his room. He has to have the blankets just right, all his toys have to be organized 'just so' and he must have a bedtime bully stick. Marley is one of the favorites at the rescue, but he needs and dreams of a loving forever family of his very own. He just celebrated his 4th birthday. Marley is a very handsome boy with a great little figure. He only has one issue - NO KIDS OR GRANDKIDS. Marley really is a very special loving dachshund for the right home. Just look at these photos what a guy !
MARLEY will do best as the one and only child in a family with a stay at home parent (work from home or retired) that way he can give you all his love and affection. Like all Dachshunds, MARLEY is high energy and enjoys playing and warming his little bones in the sunshine, so along with regular walks around his neighborhood, MARLEY needs a secure fenced yard to run around and explore safely. While small in stature, doxies are big on personality and don't generally do well in apartments, with all of the noises and traffic that come with multiple dwellings in a confined space. To best set up our doxies and their new families for success, ODR, Inc., adopt to families who live in single family homes with secure fenced yards.
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together. We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc). Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $495, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
Can you give MARLEY a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net. The adoption committee will attempt to be in contact with you within 48-72 hours. Please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
