The bigger they are, the goofier they get. This hunk's name is Thor and is available for adoption through Cause For Paws of NC. Like the mythological, hammer-wielding god, he is a protector of his human and packs a large bark. However, unlike his intimidating stature, he still thinks he is about 10 pounds and is deathly afraid of the vacuum. He will lay his head in your lap or nudge your hand for affection. He is treat motivated and has learned to 'sit', 'lay down', and is currently working on 'stay'. It has been a struggle for him because he literally just wants to be next to you. He leans like the best of the giant breeds when you're petting him and thinks he's a lap dog. Thor has been to breweries, adoption events, and dog parks and has done very well with dogs of all sizes. Like a true Dane, he is a bit wary of strangers, but eventually warms up and just seeks affection from everyone. He takes treats gently and loves being praised for being such a handsome boy.

Due to his size, Thor would be best in a home with no small children, as he's still a puppy at 1.5 years old and has a lot of excited puppy energy. He is crate trained and working on becoming completely house trained. He is a giant and goofy guy, but picks up new things easily. Thor's current weight is 115 pounds, but he still needs to pack on a few more pounds. CFPNC has already fully vetted and neutered this guy, so he's ready for a new home. Let's help this guy start off the new year with a forever home!!
If interested in providing a large and loving forever home for this big guy, please apply through www.cfp-nc.org/adopt.

Our Adoption Process...

Found an animal on our site and want to meet them or find out more about them? Fill out the adoption questionnaire located below and submit to us. Once we have reviewed/approved your application, we will provide you with the foster contact information so that you can find out more and arrange a “meet and greet”. All of our animals are located in foster homes throughout the Triangle area.

When going to a “meet and greet”, please make sure you take any family members and other pets (if at all possible) to observe their interactions. This can make introduction into the new home easier for the animals and for you.

The animal’s foster parent will ultimately make a recommendation to the organization regarding the permanent placement of the animal. Once an adoption decision has been made by both parties, we ask for an adoption fee to help us cover spay/neutering, shots, medical treatment, food and supplies – this amount only partially cover the cost of expenses and allows us to help as many animals as possible!

What if the adoption doesn’t work out? We have a lifetime return policy on our animals as we don’t want to see them turned back into a shelter.
