UPDATE after intial Vet visit
Lab mix / 2 yrs old / 26 lbs.Current weight is low, he still needs to gain a few more lbs to be a healthy size.Fungal skin irritation. Small infected wounds. Low platelets due to probable tick-borne illness. Good news -- All highly treatable & cure-able.Vet was able to vaccinate. But the low platelets will delay neutering until resolved < 16 days of antibiotic therapy. Counting the additional 7-10 days needed to recover from surgery, the soonest Donny would be safe to fly is beginning of February.J said he was super calm and sweet. Never barked even once. And they were there for a long time with yowling dogs & cats
UPDATES FROM fosters after 1st few days in house
His first foster family said during his first night at their home he stayed on his little bed all through the night. He is a little hand shy and most likely had been abused. He is definitely malnourished and dehydrated. Super sweet with the foster family and docile with their dogs. He took to the leash pretty fast and enjoyed a morning walk. Has a red/raw looking rash on his neck (likely mange). Will be seen by vet. Guessing Lab/Bassett mix.
He's doing really well. Super sweet and cuddly, a real love bug. Slept again all night on his bed. Happy to go on the morning walk and sniff for iguanas with our girls/dogs. Eating and drinking like a champ.
