Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I am a 4 year old cattle dog mix with tall perky ears, a white chest and some pretty white makings around my snout. In case you don’t know, cattle dogs are very strong and active and need lots of exercise. Activity in the form of play is the best way for me to burn off energy. I love to play with doggie toys and balls and a good round of fetch is “my game”. I could play ball all day. I am proud to say I will retrieve politely dropping the ball at your feet. People love this. I also have quite a silly side to me and am known to hang around the toy bin. If I could, I think I’d jump right in it.
In terms of my intellect, I know many obedience commands. Sit, down, come and heel are some of the commands I am proud to say I have mastered. Here at the shelter, the trainers work hard on teaching us to be polite and civilized dogs and I am presently working on those skills. I will, however say, I do not do well with other dogs or cats. I need to be placed in a home as an “only child”. I am quite loyal and the handlers here at the shelter think I would make a good guard dog, protective of my people. In closing I’d like to say, I have a good spirit and manage to actually have fun here but after almost 2 years in the shelter I am ready for a home with people in my life that will continue to enforce good dog behavior.
