My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Blackberry is a beautiful 6 year old Miniature Schnauzer mix. She has lived her entire life as a breeding dog in an Amish puppy mill. Her services were no longer needed and she was taken to the vet to be euthanized. Friendship with the help of a lot of other dog lovers stepped in and rescued her along with some of her friends. Now they all finally have a chance to see how wonderful a dog's life can really be. Blackberry knows nothing about being a "regular" dog. She is not house trained, cannot walk on a leash and is very timid. This sweet girl does enjoy gentle human contact, probably something she never experienced before. Blackberry is slowly realizing her life is changing for the better. She will need lots of patience, training and tender loving care. Most adopted puppy mill dogs turn out to be the best dogs many people ever adopt. With a little work, Blackberry will be no different.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
