Facts about Cookie

  • Breed: Japanese Chin Mix
  • Color: Brown/Chocolate - With White
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Cookie is a charming girl. We believe she is a Japanese Chin. She is about a year and a half old and very sweet. Cookie was one of 9 of her family members that were relinquished to animal control. She was very bonded to her family and will do best with another gentle playmate. At the very least she would love a fenced in yard to romp in. Best scenario is to have both a playmate and a yard to enjoy. Cookie is very loving and gentle. She is well behaved but still has some puppy remnants in her to chew on miscellaneous things. Cookie is crate trained but will be fine in her home in a confined area to start. She gets along with everyone, animal and human alike. She has been spayed, had a dental, is up to date with all her vaccinations, heartworm negative and micro chipped. Cookie shows signs of early dry eye, common to big eyed dogs. She will require a family that will take her to the opthamalogist and that can conintue her eye drops and meds for this. Estimate a cost of 35.00 a month in addtion to normal high grade foods and grooming and normal vetting. If you are interested in adopting or have any questions please feel free to contact us. We work full time and are volunteers. Please be patient, we will get back you on average within 48 hours. We do require home visits and do not do out of state adoptions

About Rescue Tails Animal Welfare

About Our Rescue Group...

Rescue Tails Animal Welfare is dedicated to rehoming pets from high kill shelters. We choose an animal one at a time and evaluate what issues caused the animal to end up in the shelter and address those issues. Most often we find behavioral issues and/or medical issues . We deal with whatever it is to the best of our ability and then place the pet up for adoption to a responsible pet guardian. It is our goal to prevent the pet from returning to the system again. We work with the pets and carefully match them to their forever homes.

Our Adoption Process...

To adopt any animal from Rescue Tails we require a completed and verified adoption application. Once we can review the application, we can set up a meet and greet. We ask that all members of the household including pets are available for us and prospective pet to meet. Providing that goes well, we will set an appointment with you for a home visit. If all goes well we can proceed to the final step of finalizing the adoption.
