Meet Ginger, an older gal with a lot of love to give. She was found as a stray in Benton County, WA during the worst snow storm of the year. She had been living in between some abandoned trailers and was unable to be caught. Good Sam were feeding her, leaving her blankets, and toys while a plan was formulated to catch her.

Once the shelter staff trapped her, it took them four hours to shave all the matted hair off of her and her paws were so raw from running she took a little while to recover. She also had developed some temporary blindness due to the extreme cold she endured, but she has recovered from all of that now.

She is still shy, and is not great with quick movements. She would get along with other dogs once she became confident in who she was again. She would make the perfect companion for anyone with love and warm home to give. We have no idea how she would be with cat and we suggest older kids or no kids as she is not a fan of fast movement.

She is mostly potty trained (just takes a few days to get her back into the swing of things) and is currently being fostered in Portland, OR and her adoption fee is $250.00.

About Misunderstood Mutts Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Misunderstood Mutts Rescue (MMR) is a volunteer based organization serving the greater Yakima Valley, greater Portland area, and Puget Sound region. We are dedicated to saving abandoned, free, and throwaway dogs in areas where abuse, neglect, and cruelty are prevalent.

MMR was formed in October 2016 with the goal of rescuing dogs from our own backyards. Our ultimate goal is be a catalyst for a world free of homeless, neglected, abused, and abandoned animals. The harder MMR works to achieve this goal, the greater the reduction in euthanization rates throughout Oregon and Washington State.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs our in loving foster homes and doing meet and greets is the best way to meet our pets.

Our Adoption Process...

We strive to find the perfect home for our dogs and so we require an application, home check, references, and a meet & greet. We also provide a two-week trial period for our dogs, to make sure it is just the right fit.

Most of our dogs range from $250.00 to $400.00 and this includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, & transportation. The majority of our dogs come from neglectful and/or abusive situations and require a decompression period between foster and adoption. A representative from MMR will be with you every step of the way to ensure the best transition possible for not only our dogs, but for you.
