My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Madeline
Born ~ 2013, Female, Tortie, Exotic Shorthair Persian

Yes. She is certainly as CUTE as she looks. What a great personality she has – entirely loving and playful. What a treasure .Of course I am biased-- I always like Exotics. (“Zots” as they are called.)These kitties are known as the “lazy man’s Persians” Their coats are an even length with short, silky, dense fur so they don’t need the daily grooming that Persians often require. They have the flat faces of Persians. More importantly, they also have their human-connected, loving, cuddly natures. Persians of all sorts, short and long haired, give you their whole hearts. This means they are vulnerable and you must protect them and keep them safe.

This perfect little girl came into rescue because her mother felt a lump on her neck and did not feel she could afford a vet visit. Our vet removed it and she has healed nicely. It was not the cancer we worried about just something that needed to be taken out. A photo below shows her modeling her sock bandage around her neck. Madeline has been bred probably more than once and has the big nipples to prove it. We have had her spayed and she now seems to be in perfect health.

Some of the photos show that her left ear tip is tilted up. This is from an ear issue she had in the past. It looks very cute. Everything about her looks cute. She has copper gold eyes which match the red in her tortie-colored coat. She has one golden paw. She has a heart of gold.

Madeline needs an active, happy home with other cats and lots of humans. She is totally fine with kitties and has obviously been around them a great deal. She would be fine with middle aged children and maybe younger ones. I don’t know how she is with dogs but I expect she would be fine with cat loving ones after a proper introduction. This kitty would love to be with humans who have lots of time for her.

She is a young girl and just wants to have fun. She loves all toys. She loves to climb. She loves to explore. She can’t resist a feather wiggling in front of her. She is easy to please.

Someone is going to be SO lucky to get this special girl.

She eats wet and dry food and is litter-box perfect.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz.
