My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Medina is a wonderful pitbull mix (we think there is some chocolate Labrador in there, and/or maybe some Chesapeake or husky or... who knows), about 4 years old, who was rescued from the middle of nowhere by someone who shared their lunch with her, and she then followed them out of the woods. No one claimed her during her stray hold, so it is now time for Medina to find her new forever home, one that will never leave her out alone in the cold wilderness.

She weighs about 55 pounds, and gets a 66% of the couch rating. She is housetrained (and doesn't even soil her kennel during the long overnight hours), and has very good manners. Her favorite toy is a tennis ball - she doesn't always bring it back, but she loves to chase it and chew it (I guess tennis balls are like her Juicy Fruit). She is smart and treat motivated, and should be easy to train.

Medina loves children and all sorts of people. She is selective about her dog friends - she likes Shrek, and our manager's male Australian Shepherd Jake, but doesn't like our newest female dog at all. Medina is not good with cats, small dogs, or other small furries. She will do fine as an only dog, or if you have another dog already, we'd recommend that you bring him to the shelter to meet Medina. Yes, she would be worth the drive from wherever you are!

Medina comes with a 30-day money-back trial adoption period.

Spay/neuter, deworming, microchip and all age-appropriate shots are always completed before placement, and are included in the adoption fee (suggested minimum $95; more gratefully accepted!)

Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your payment to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!
