Handsome, young Monkey was discovered on the streets of Mill Basin by a Brooklyn Animal Action rescuer, who noticed a stray cat who was clearly suffering from a medical condition. Fortunately, the rescuer scooped Monkey up and brought him to the vet at once for treatment.
But Monkey’s story was far from over! He required loads of tender, loving care and numerous surgeries in order to make him the healthy, happy boy he is today. It was a true labor of love, and at many points, there was no telling if Monkey would pull through.
Now, you’d never recognize Monkey if you’d seen him while he was homeless and in desperate need of help. His rescuer describes him as “sweet as can be,” uber-friendly to all, with an adorable, playful streak. He loves other cats, as well as chasing balls, mice, strings, feathers, and laser lights. If it’s a toy and Monkey can play with it, he’s happy as can be. He also enjoys petting sessions and is affectionate with his humans. All in all, he's a fantastic young guy!
Monkey is only 10 months old, negative for FeLV/FIV, and up to date on vaccines. If you'd like to meet this lucky, playful survivor, contact Christie at email@example.com!
