My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ivy is an adorable 8 pound Chihuahua who is estimated to be around two years old. She was picked up as a stray and was terrified in the shelter but she has blossomed in her foster home.
Ivy loves to be with people. You will always have to check before taking a step to be sure you don’t step on her! She will follow you around the house and rub against your legs like a kitty cat! Ivy will love being held in your arms and will snuggle against your chest. She will also love sleeping in your lap when you watch TV at night.
Ivy loves to chase squirrels--although squirrels aren’t much smaller than she is--and she also chases birds. Ivy enjoys riding in the car, napping in the sun, and playing with toys.
Ivy has an adorable hook at the end of her tail. She has beautiful markings and soft, fluffy fur. Her eyes are a beautiful medium brown. Ivy’s bark is louder than you might expect from someone so small. She barks when she has a reason, but not excessively.
Ivy enjoys the company of other small dogs but she would also enjoy being the adored only dog of an attentive owner. She sleeps in a crate a night and is crated when no one is at home.
Ivy is an active little girl who runs around in our backyard and enjoys frequent walks around the block. She has an injury to her back right leg. The vet speculated that perhaps she was stepped on when she was very young. Her injury doesn’t slow her down a bit and doesn’t seem to be painful for her, although the orthopedic vet thinks the injury may possibly impact her when she is older.
This precious girl is a wonderful, loving companion who will brighten the life of a lucky adopter for many years to come.

Ivy is located in Huntsville, AL, but she is available for adoption in your area! She is spayed, fully vaccinated, current on trifexis, she is negative for heartworms, and she is microchipped.
