Abby is a black beauty looking for her second chance at a loving home. She was surrendered to the SPCA when her owner could no longer care for her. She is a shy girl who needs time to adjust to new environments and people. She will need a gentle, loving, and patient guardian to help her come out of her shell. Given time we believe she will be an affectionate companion. She certainly enjoys being petted, especially cheek scratches. Abby would do best in a home without children who may be too scary for her. She likes to have places to hide to help her feel safe. Being black and shy Abby tends to get passed by for more outgoing cats but it can be such a reward to bring home a kitty like her. You will get to see her blossom in a loving home and her personality start to shine.
A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting any animal.

About BC SPCA - Kamloops Branch

About Our Shelter...

See our website at www.spca.bc.ca/Kamloops for all of our current adoption prices, hours of operation, etc.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
