This lovely girl is Ivy! She was surrendered to the shelter by her heartbroken family when they moved to apartment that didn't allow dogs. In her previous home, Ivy lived in harmony with another dog, cats, ferrets, and kids.
Ivy's foster family just loves her! She was a little shy at first, and who could blame her. It took about two days for her to warm up, but once she realized she was safe and in a warm, loving home, they realized what an adorable, affectionate, playful sweetheart she was! She has a great time with the other dogs in her foster home, and she has lots of energy to play. When she is out in yard with the other dogs, she is bouncy an leaps like a gazelle! She enjoys playing with tennis balls, rope toys, and especially squeaky toys. She thinks she is a lap dog and will keep you warm as you sit on the couch during the cold winter months. Although she is still quite young, she has an "old soul" and seems to know when you are sad, or anxious, and just need a friend.
Ivy is about 1.5 years old and 40 pounds. She definitely needs to gain a little weight, but that should be no problem for her new family because she loves treats and is very food motivated. Ivy knows how to sit and will do so without prompting when presented with dinner. She is completely housebroken, crate trained, spayed, up to date on all her shots, heart worm negative, and microchipped. She loves everyone she meets and would make a great family dog!
