My name is Starla – a pretty name for a pretty girl! I was one of several dogs given up because there were simply too many of us living together. I am great with other dogs but what I lacked is socialization with two-legged creatures. I am slow to trust and hesitant to invest myself in new people. I'm the type of dog who needs to be ignored by strangers and I'll come to them in my own sweet time. If I sense that I am cornered, I may snap (I really don’t want to but I feel that I have no choice). So, an adult family or one with respectful kids over 12 feels about right. I am just learning that going for walks is quite enjoyable and will be even more so in nice weather. A home with another well adjusted dog to show me the ropes would be perfect. I could definitely benefit from Obedience Training Classes; I could use the socialization since I get a pretty nervous around new people. A good confidence boost should do wonders for me! I am still learning what toilet training is all about so please be patient. I’m a sensitive gal, looking for a home where I can learn to feel safe and secure.
