Edie is a classic ACD, 30 pounds of "Here's my toy, let's never stop!" Relinquished to the shelter as a stray, Edie has apparently raised a few litters of pups, but she's now spayed and happy to be in charge of tennis balls instead of young-ins. Edie is house- and crate-trained, learning leash and obedience skills, as well as a few tricks, and is about 5 years old. Up-to-date on vaccinations and flea/hw preventative, she has terrific toy and treat drive, is cordial to the cat and civil with other dogs- but prefers the company of people. There are no children in Edie's foster home, but she is responsive to redirection, so may live well with older children. Edie is a cheerful, attentive gal who deserves a calm, fairly quiet home.

Edie has many typical ACD traits: she wants to be BUSY and if not provided with structure and guidance may try to boss other dogs; she is sensitive to being handled, and her foster home is working on building trust; she wants to cooperate, and becomes anxious if she feels too pressured. When she first arrived at her foster home, Edie showed some limited flexibility in her hind legs, but it's likely Edie will thrive in an ACD-savvy home with folks who provide the structure and routine to help her settle in. She will be a devoted and rewarding companion to her forever person!

Edie is located in Livermore Falls, ME. For questions, please contact

About Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association

About Our Rescue Group...

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
