Meet Jimmie, an incredibly adoring and friendly chow/lab mix! He is around 3 years old and has energy to boot, always up for a trip to the dog park or a long, fast-paced walk. He was previously surrendered to a shelter by his former family because they were moving, and he unfortunately found himself on the list to be euthanized. Thankfully for us and for him, he was rescued and couldn’t be happier. We think that he was an outside only dog in his earlier years, because he is a bit eager once he steps outside for a walk, so be sure to have a good grip on his leash. He loves his bone and good belly rubs, and will want to snuggle near you at bedtime.

Jimmie is a lovable mix of goofy and beautiful, with a shiny red chestnut coat and strong body that makes him the most handsome on the doggie block, while also sporting an endearing overbite and spotted tongue (characteristic to Chows). If you get a good look at him, you can see where he looks more Chow or more Lab, or a perfect hybrid of the two. As we said: goofy AND beautiful!

He is a smart boy, already trained to sit, stay, and shake paws and rarely barks, although sudden knocks at the front door call for security checks and he happily takes care of it!

Jimmie will make for a wonderful addition to an attentive and active family. Contact us at Cody’s Friends Rescue to begin your happily ever after with Jimmie by your side!

About Cody's Friends Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

About us: Cody was the first pet I owned as an adult. He was a Shih Tzu that I bought unknowingly, from a Puppy Mill. He fought for his life and barely survived, suffering for the first few months of his life. From then on I was stirred by a ferocious passion to save as many dogs as I could through networking with other rescue groups and saving the ones I could off of cold streets and unwanted in shelters. Cody did not live a very long life due to a weakened body, but I was able to love on him for eight good years! He will always be loved and forever remembered. With over 400 dogs rescued so far, we ARE making a difference!!
Thank you for visiting and considering a rescue........................

Our Adoption Process...

Thank you for adopting and not buying!!! Every week hundreds of highly adoptabledogs are put to death by local shelters. Most people would be amazed at the purebred and beautiful dogs available, if they walked into their neighborhood shelter.

Rescue organizations, like mine, work hard to save as many as we possibly can but is a never ending process with breeders and Puppy Mills selling unhealthy animals to the public. If you EVER saw a puppy mill you would NEVER buy again!

All of my dogs are neutered or spayed, vet checked, completely vaccinated, wormed, groomed and checked for heart worms. They are all are current on Heart worm medicine, flea, and tick medications. Upon request, they are all microchipped as well.

Adoption fee is $200 to $250 (older "friends' can be less, please inquire. Puppies are $300 - Besides fully vetting all dogs, some of of the dogs I rescue, 1 in 5 I rescue have heart worms which is very expensive to treat. I also take in dogs who need surgeries and are close to death.
** Please note that I do not usually adopt out my dogs with children under four years of age.
