My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ADOPTED!
Piper is a beautiful young Beagle girl that came into rescue when her owner surrendered her to Animal Control. He keeps Beagles out in his yard strictly for hunting rabbits (not as indoor pets) and little Piper apparently hadn't show much talent for chasing bunnies. Having no other use for her, she was no longer wanted. At only 13 months of age poor Piper faced a very uncertain future; that is until Safe Hounds took her in.

Piper is shy and needs to learn to trust people. She probably didn't get much attention from her former owner, but she is starting to come out of her shell in her foster home. She is also learning things she never needed to know before, such as how to walk on a leash and how to go up and down stairs.

Piper is current on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm neg. and on preventative, and microchipped. She was very easy to crate train so we are hoping housetraining will be as well. She is very good with small dogs and really likes to play! It will probably take Piper a little while to adjust to her new surroundings, but we're confident that with a little time and patience she's really going to blossom.

Important:Piper is not at a shelter where you can go to meet her. All Safe Hounds Beagles are cared for in a loving foster home. Prospective adopters MUST submit an adoption application and be pre-approved before meeting a dog. Submitting an application does not guarantee you will be approved. We are unable to accept applications for specific dogs and cannot guarantee the future availability of this or any dog listed. Once an application is approved, we’ll begin a matching process--the right dog for the right home. Please visit our web page: www.safehounds.com to learn more about the adoption process and to download our adoption application.

Unable to adopt? Please consider helping us by sponsoring a Beagle. By helping us we can continue to help them. We have dogs with medical needs and many hungry Beagles to feed. We are always in need of dog food and other items from our wish list as well as financial support to help us care for our dogs.
