Sebastian's Story...
SEBASTIAN is a super sweet tan and white Australian Shepherd mix male who was dropped along a country road in NW TN one night. He was found and rescued and is safe in a foster home, but he would love to have a family of his own. His foster says that he is a love bug. He is on the shy side but has a great temperament. He is spunky and funny and loves to cuddle. He will nudge an arm when he wants to be petted. He is great on leash and crate trained. He lets you know when he needs to go out. He is good with kids, other dogs and cats. He has a very soft medium coat. He loves his blanket and sweater. At only 8 months of age, he weighed 40 to 45 pounds. He is now 10 to ll months. He has been vetted, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He was too young to test for heartworm when first rescued, so we recommend that at one year of age. He has been on monthly flea and heartworm prevention since he was rescued. If you live in another state, don't let that stand in your way. We will work to transport Sebastian if it means he will have a good forever home. If you are another rescue group, we will waive the adoption fee but you can make a donation toward vetting at your discretion. The adoption fee will help our 501(c)3 non-profit, all-volunteer rescue to cover at least part of the cost of the veterinary care this dog has received.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sebastian, a Union City Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Union City, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Union City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Union City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Union City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Union City paves the way for another one to be saved.
