Meet Superman! This handsome 1 year old purebred Australian cattle dog is not the type you commonly find running the streets in an inner city but somehow that's what happened...when we met him at the local pound he was a bit freaked out and seemed to know he didn't belong there. He was wearing a "superman" collar and clearly was someone's pet, perhaps abandoned when they realized her wasn't cut out for city life. With the help of our special helper dog Virginia who he took an immediate liking to we were able to earn his trust and see what amazing potential he had. True to his breed, he is a smart, high energy dog, very social, and needs to keep busy. He loves playing fetch and having fun with his many dog friends. He was initially panicky about being handled or having his collar grabbed, and not a fan of the vet at all, but once he trusts you he loves to cuddle and thinks he's a lap dog. Superman would love a dog-saavy active home with someone who would enjoy spending time with him. He loves car rides and would be a great hiking or jogging companion and excel at dog sports- he's so smart he could probably learn to do just about anything!

We do not have a shelter- all our pets are in foster homes and can be seen by appointment only during the week, or at our weekly pet adoptions every Sunday at the Animal Clinic of Morris Plains from 12:30 to 3PM at 3009 Route 10 East next to 5 Star Car Wash (formerly Boulder Car Wash) in Morris Plains (Denville on GPS). Local inquiries only please- we do not do long distance adoptions.
