Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Suzie Q is a classic rock song sung by Dale Hawkins. Nope! Suzie Q is a classic rock song redone by Creedence Clearwater Revival. Nope! Suzie Q is a snack cake by Hostess. Nope! Nope! Nope! Suzie Q is me! The best Suzie Q ever!! I am a Beagle girl only 9 months old and I am looking for my forever family.
Foster mom says I am a very steadfast and loyal little girl. I am loyal to my family, and love to play with the other dogs here. I can get a little loud when I get excited, especially when meeting new dogs, but we are working on that, and once I am familiar with others I get along fine. I haven’t had much of a chance to meet any cats, but I sure am interested in finding out more!
I would do well in a family with older kids, but haven’t really had a chance to be around the little ones much. I am a puppy, and might just be a little too rambunctious for toddlers! I am still working on house training. Foster mom uses a bell for us to ring when we need to go outside, and I am starting to get the hang of it! I do need a fenced yard, leashed walks, or a dog park for exercise, because I could take off running if something catches my attention. I share that curiosity trait with most Beagles and you do have to be careful not to let me escape!
I like to go for car rides and walks, and I’m learning how to walk on a leash. Sometimes my curiosity takes over and I just want to go, go, go- but I’m getting better. Foster mom uses training treats and positive reinforcement, and I am doing well with that! I love my treats and I’m a fast learner!
That’s the basics from me, Suzie Q. To find out more, contact Midwest BREW and ask about me. I’ll be waiting…..I know my forever family is out there somewhere!
Please read our Standards for Adoption and the information about beagles and puppies before you submit an adoption application. Remember that owning a puppy is a full time commitment and you must have the time to commit to a dog that will be with you for 12-17 years. Beagle puppies are cute - but they are very challenging. Puppies may eat your apartment (no refund of security deposit); people who are gone for more than 5 hours at a time will need to make dog walker, neighbor or doggie daycare arrangements; and for families with very small children, puppies will chew toys, shoes, blankets and hands, feet and other important parts of your child's anatomy.
