Tucker's Story...
Tara and Tucker's family moved with the hopes of keeping them in their family and so the collies were boarded in kennels for months with the idea that their family would be able to keep them together. But as the months spread out, Tara and Tucker were not able to return to their family and were relinquished to SCR. When they were first allowed to play and run on grass after months of boarding they both raced back and forth in the yard, sniffing and celebrating their freedoms!! They have always had loving and caring homes so they are sweet and loving themselves. They are now hoping for a new forever family they can share their love with. Both dogs are 9 years old, very sweet, and learning to be house trained as they were outside dogs in their previous home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tucker, a Santa Barbara Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Santa Barbara, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Santa Barbara.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Santa Barbara already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Santa Barbara breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Santa Barbara paves the way for another one to be saved.
