1/18/2017: NOVA HAS BEEN SPAYED AND IS READY TO FIND HER FOREVER FAMILY! Nova and her siblings, Scotia and Newf, were strays who wandered up onto a business property and were not able to stay. We were contacted to see if we could pick them up and find them a home. We were told that they looked to be about 5-6 months old and were very sweet puppies. They appear to be lab mixes and are good sized pups who should mature to a larger medium to large size. Nova and Newf, the bigger of the three pups, are also the shyest while Scotia is outgoing and bouncy/happy. None of the pups seem to know what a leash is so they will need some work there but they are all loving babies..just a bit scared being in an unfamiliar place-we are sure that won't last long. We feel that these pups would get along well in any home environment, would do great with kids and other dogs and are even still young enough to be raised around and socialized with cats so we don't feel that cats should be an issue either. Being that they are a larger breed dog, they will need regular exercise and/or a large yard to run and play in. Kids and other dogs to play with or an active owner who can give them regular walks, runs, and playtime would be ideal. These little pups will make great family companions. Their adoption fee will be $175 each and will help to cover their spay/neuter, vetting and daily cost of care while with us. If interested in giving one of these cute pups a forever home, please email your interest and adoption application or call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information or to set up a day/time to meet them.

About Paws & Claws

About Our Rescue Group...

We are a small rescue started in September 2004. To date, we have adopted out over 250 dogs and cats who may not have had a second chance. We rescue the majority of our pets from kill shelters and have them thoroughly vetted prior to going to their new homes. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, heartworm checked(dogs) and dewormed. We also microchip our dogs so that they can always find their way home. Big and small, we work to rehome them all. We are always in need of donations so if you can help us to help our pets, please contact us! The more people who get involved, the more pets that we can save! You can also see our pets and/or fill out our adoption application on We look forward to hearing from you and making that "forever match"!

Come Meet Our Pets...

We operate from our home so our pets can be seen by appointment only. Please call or e-mail(prefer) to schedule a time to visit.

Our Adoption Process...

We require an adoption application to be filled out and approved prior to any adoption. Our adoption fee for our dogs is $125.00 and up and for most of our cats that still require vetting it is $75.00. We currently have a special adoption fee for our cats who are already completely vetted(spayed/neutered and UTD vacc )You can adopt one of these kitties for ONLY $25.00!!! If for any reason a pet that you adopt can not remain with you, we require that the pet be returned to Paws & Claws to be rehomed. We do NOT give refunds for any reason so please consider adoption carefully before you take a pet home. We also ONLY accept CASH as payment for our adoption fees. Our main requirement to adopt is LOVE! If you can offer love to a needy pet, please consider adoption. Your reward will be a devoted friend for life.
