Smeagol's Story...
My name may be Smeagol, but I’m so much cuter than my namesake from “The Lord of the Rings.” I’m a playful and outgoing young cat, a most energetic boy (under 1 year of age at the time of this posting in June of 2017). I love coming up to people for a cuddle and purr-fest, but then I’m right back to running, jumping, climbing, and exploring. I’m so energetic in my playtime, sometimes the other felines here at the FOHA communal cattery wish I would just chill! Playing makes me happy, but food and treats make me ecstatic! I need all the nutrition I can get for my active, playful ways. Are you ready to play? Then please come to meet me – we’ll have a wonderful time together!

Ready to adopt adorable me? Complete the FOHA online cat adoption application.Go to the "Adopt a Cat" page at the FOHA website -- www.foha.org.

FOHA only adopts cats and kittens to the DC metro/Northern Virginia area. For questions about FOHA's adoption policies, go to www.foha.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Smeagol, a Aldie Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Aldie, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Aldie.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Aldie already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Aldie breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Aldie paves the way for another one to be saved.
