I’m Harlee, and if you are looking for a dog that will be easy to assimilate into your home and family, then I am it!
I am mellow and sweet. I like belly rubs and pats on the head. Although folks don’t know much about my life before ending up in the shelter, I definitely was an indoor dog at some point. I have been a wonderful guest in my foster family’s home, and am proud of the fact t hat my foster mom lets me be unsupervised. I haven’t chewed anything besides the yummy rawhide treats that my foster mom dishes out. I haven’t had any accidents in the house, and have asked to go out when it has been awhile since someone took me to the grass. I sleep happily in the crate or on the comfy dog bed. My foster mom asked me to sit and I did it on the first command!!!
I really like the other little playful dog that lives here, although I don’t pester her non-stop to play. We chase each other around the yard a little, and then we come inside to rest. I am not a piggy at the food bowl. Nevertheless, I love a special treat of having a bit of canned dog food mixed in with my breakfast or dinner.
I was so grateful for the quiet, warm foster home after spending a long time at the shelter. I had a nice warm bath which got rid of the fleas in my fur from when I was living on the streets. My wiry, Schnauzer-like fur is growing back in some spots. My ears may look like they are a size too small for me, but they are very soft and I like it when someone rubs them. I am a really cute, easy-going mutt and will be a great companion to my furever family. You can fill out an application for her now because a sweet, trainable, playful dog who loves people and dogs won’t be on the market for long!
Harlee is a female terrier mix that we estimate is about a year old and weighs approximately 35 pounds.
PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.
OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.
SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.
NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.
