My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Our foster dogs live as family members in the foster home until chosen for adoption. If you are interested and live within an hours drive of Cincinnati email their foster mom, Donna, doffen28@aol.com for more information on how they can become part of your family.

**********IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE PLEASE IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS*******
direct any and all questions (that includes fees and location) about these sweet pups to their foster mom, Donna, by email doffen28@aol.com Using any other email will just add a delay in you getting the info.

Meet best buddies Maize and Reno. These two have formed such a bond in foster care that we are hoping for them to be adopted together. We would consider separating them but if you are looking for two dogs who will play together, lay together and enjoy one another's companionship these two may be for you.

Maize is around age 5, but we do not know her exact age as she was turned into the SPCA as a stray with heartworm and terrible fly bites on her ears. She was completely terrified of people and the only thing that gave her comfort at the SPCA was the other dogs.

Our veterinarian treated her heartworm and fly bites and she is now a healthy girl ready for a wonderful home.

She is still fearful of people touching her, so her new family will need to understand that she enjoys hanging out near you, going on walks and being a part of a family but enjoys it from a distance of about 1 foot away from her people. We have worked with her but she still flinches when someone reaches towards her. But when the other dogs are demanding attention her low key personality is very refreshing because she is not begging for attention.
She is housetrained and she barely sheds and barks much less than our other dogs! If your dog needs a friend but you worry he/she would get jealous Maize could be the dog for you.

Due to her low self confidence she needs to live with another dog. We will not make an exception in her case.
She needs a dog in the household who is confident and happy and can show her that people are okay. She also wants a playmate.

Reno is around 5 or 6 years old. He was turned in by his owner with another dog because his owner could no longer care for them. The dog he was turned in with is in another foster home tending her to medical needs.
Reno is healthy and happy and just the funniest little dog. He loves to play with Maize and he loves playing ball all by himself. He is a joy to have around. He is housetrained for the most part, but he still has the "little dog" occasional accident if we are gone more than 9 hours. Reno is confident so he is good for Maize. And while our other dogs tend to ignore Reno, Maize plays with him until both are exhausted and happy to lay around and enjoy the evening with their family.

We have been told that Reno can be overly interested in getting near cats. So if he were to live with cats it'd probably be best if the cats were dog savvy.

You can contact their foster mom, Donna, by email doffen28@aol.com for more information on how they can become part of your family.
