My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEEKO

Neutered Male     White       Miniature Poodle Mix      12 lbs.     3 years   Fee:  $350

My name is Meeko and I am one mellow guy.   How did I get so laid back at just three years of age, you might ask.  Well, I guess it’s just my nature.  I’m not a worrier or a fretter.  Take the kennel here.  It’s not my favorite thing to be without my own home, but I know that before long my new special person will show up and take me away to be with my new family forever.  Take yourself, for instance.  Maybe you’re reading this and thinking that a nice, calm, affectionate 12 pound poodle mix is just what would make your life complete.

If that’s what you’re thinking, come to the kennel and take me for a spin.  You’ll see how easy I am to walk.  A walk with me is a very nice experience.  No frantic stuff.  Just you and me enjoying the day.  Meeting strangers that tell you how handsome I am and ask if they can pet me – which is fine with me, I’m good with people.  Or maybe meeting a dog that I can greet while you pause for a minute or two.  I like other dogs, but when you say it’s time to move on, I’m ready to continue down the trail.

We’ll have a nice, relaxed time at home too.  I’m very affectionate by nature and love a good cuddle, but I don’t insist if you’re busy.  I just wait until you have time and then I really enjoy your attention.  So much nicer than being pushy, I think.  And I’m pretty good at figuring out your rules and paying attention to any gentle correction you might think I need if I’ve guessed wrongly about what is permitted and what isn’t.

I think that about covers it.  No, wait, I forgot that people often want to know about cats.  Just today I was introduced to a cat that lives at the kennel.  I thought he was a curious sort of fur person, but I just studied him calmly.  Don’t know what it would be like to actually live with one of those, but I think it would be ok.

So if you can now picture how pleasant our life together would be, please do arrange for us to meet.

Dogs are vaccinated, microchipped  and spayed/neutered before adoption.

The necessary first step to inquire about any dog, is to complete the NCPR Adoption Interest Form. Once we receive the NCPR Adoption Interest Form, a volunteer will contact you promptly. We need your information to match you with the perfect companion. NorCal Poodle Rescue places dogs within northern California only.
