My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Belle. I'm not really sure how old I am but the vet thinks I am about 2 yrs old or maybe even a little younger. I'm not sure what breed I am either, but people say I look like a lab. I've had a hard life so far but I still look really good!

I used to live in the Caribou where I was outside most of the time. Even though I am very young, I had puppies in June that I had to look after and I needed a safe place for them, so I dug a hole under a house and took them in with me. It wasn't very comfortable for us - but It was safe. Some people knew we were having a really hard time and asked a very kind lady to help us so she came and took my two pups, Gus and Jilly (you may have seen them on the website). I couldn't go with them because I had another pup named Josie who wouldn't come out of the hole. A few months later when it started to get very cold, the people asked the kind lady to help again. Josie went with her but I ran away and hid in our hole. I was just so scared! I was very lonely without my pups and a week later came out of the hole and I was rescued too! Josie and I are together again now and we aren't living in a hole anymore! We have a warm, safe place to live where we get good food and treats everyday! (you can see her in my photos)

Josie and I are still nervous and a bit unsure of people. We like them and will get better when we learn to trust them. We aren't aggressive at all with people or with other dogs. We think cats are ok too. Josie is only 7 months old and she is more playful and more comfortable with our new life than I am but I am making progress!

Josie is really cute. She looks like her Dad who was German Shepherd. We are both healthy and have been vaccinated. We eat well and enjoy getting out for exercise.

Josie and I need to find new homes. We know we probably won't be able to stay together but we will be ok if our people are really kind to us. I hope we both find really great families like the ones Gus and Jilly found. That will make us very happy!

If you are interested in adopting one of us or both of us please let our friends at HALDR know! We are waiting to hear from you!
